Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 15, 2025
thy.finance is built on a simple principle: your financial data is yours. We don't want it, we don't collect it, and we don't sell it.
What We Don't Collect
Unlike most websites, thy.finance deliberately avoids collecting data:
- No personal information - No names, emails, or contact details (unless you email us)
- No financial data - We never see the numbers you enter into our calculators
- No usage tracking - No Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no third-party trackers
- No cookies - We don't use cookies or similar tracking technologies
- No IP addresses - We don't log or store IP addresses
- No device fingerprinting - We don't attempt to identify your device
- No accounts - No usernames, passwords, or authentication required
How Our Calculators Work
All thy.finance calculators run entirely in your web browser:
- You enter your financial information into a calculator
- Your browser performs the calculations using JavaScript
- Results display instantly on your screen
- No data is transmitted to our servers or anyone else
You can verify this yourself by opening your browser's developer tools (F12) and watching the Network tab while using our calculators. You'll see zero requests to our servers during calculations.
What Information We Do Collect
Server Access Logs (Minimal)
Our web hosting provider may temporarily log basic technical information required to serve web pages:
- Timestamp of page requests
- Requested URL (e.g., /mortgage/mortgage.html)
- HTTP status codes (200, 404, etc.)
- Browser type (User-Agent string)
These logs are used solely for technical purposes (troubleshooting, preventing attacks) and are automatically deleted after 7 days. They do not contain any financial information from our calculators.
Email Communication
If you contact us via email (support@thy.finance, bugs@thy.finance, etc.):
- We'll see your email address and message content
- We use this information only to respond to your inquiry
- We don't add you to mailing lists without permission
- We don't share your email with third parties
Third-Party Services
thy.finance does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We don't embed:
- Google Analytics
- Facebook Pixel
- Twitter/X tracking
- Advertising networks
- Marketing automation tools
- A/B testing platforms
The only third-party connection is to our web hosting provider, which is necessary to deliver the website.
Data Storage & Retention
Because we don't collect personal or financial data, there's nothing to store or retain.
If you use our Export features (PDF, CSV, Excel), those files are generated entirely in your browser and saved directly to your device. We never see the contents of exported files.
Your Rights
Since we don't collect personal data about you, there's no data to:
- Access
- Correct
- Delete
- Export
- Restrict processing of
If you've emailed us and want us to delete your email correspondence, contact privacy@thy.finance.
Children's Privacy
thy.finance is designed for general audiences. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). Because we don't collect any personal information from anyone, this policy applies equally to all users regardless of age.
International Users
thy.finance is accessible worldwide. Because all calculations happen in your browser, your financial data never crosses borders or leaves your device.
GDPR & CCPA Compliance
While we're not required to comply with GDPR or CCPA (because we don't collect personal data), our privacy-by-design approach exceeds the requirements of both regulations:
- GDPR (EU) - We don't process personal data, so GDPR obligations don't apply
- CCPA (California) - We don't sell personal information because we don't collect any
Security
The best security is not collecting sensitive data in the first place. Because thy.finance operates entirely client-side:
- There's no database to hack
- No user data to steal
- No servers processing your financial information
We do use standard security measures for our website:
- HTTPS encryption for all page loads
- Regular security updates to our hosting infrastructure
- No use of outdated or vulnerable JavaScript libraries
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change how we handle privacy (for example, if we add optional accounts in the future), we'll update this page with the new effective date.
We'll never retroactively collect data about your past usage. Any new data collection would only apply going forward and would be clearly disclosed.
